For Some Resorts, Multi-Mountain Passes Mean Crowded Slopes and Longer Lift Lines
- Ski resorts across the country specifically near metropolitan areas, are becoming extremely congested, both on the slopes and around the facilities.

- An avalanche at Alpine Meadows resort caused the death of one man and serious injuries of another.
- Avalanche control was conducted prior to the two men were on the mountain, as the area received 2 feet of snow in 24 hours, and was deemed safe to ski on.
- This death reflects the fifth avalanche fatality this year and the tenth this ski season in the United States.
- Despite the lack of snow the resort has received this year, there is always the possibility of an avalanche if more snow falls or if the resort receives more in future years.
